Chirag Paswan to Join NDA, BJP Welcomes Him as Key Ally

Political leader Chirag Paswan's decision to join the NDA strengthens BJP's alliance ahead of crucial elections.

Chirag Paswan, the leader of the Lok Janashakti Party (LJP), will be joining the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), according to an announcement made by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief JP Nadda. This decision comes after Chirag Paswan's meeting with key strategist Amit Shah. Chirag Paswan, who is the political successor to his father Ram Vilas Paswan, had previously distanced himself from the NDA before the last state election in Bihar due to disagreements with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. However, his move left him isolated, as his uncle Pashupati Paras, with the support of four MPs, remained with the NDA.

It is believed that the BJP saw the importance of having Chirag Paswan back in the NDA, as a significant portion of Bihar's Paswan voters supported him. During the meeting with Amit Shah, Chirag Paswan reportedly requested six seats for his faction. The BJP's response to this request is yet to be known, but the party has been working towards reconciliation between the two factions of the LJP.

Pashupati Paras and his faction have stated that while they will not oppose Chirag Paswan's entry into the NDA, they will not welcome him either. Mr. Paras emphasized the need for unity, stating that when things go wrong, it is difficult to mend relationships.

The meeting between Chirag Paswan and key NDA leaders is seen as a significant development in this election year, with parties looking to strengthen their alliances and expand their support base. The outcome of the meeting will determine the future course of action.
